I’m going to probably make a handful of people mad, but, taking a stab in the dark, I’m going to assume that MOST guys 18-30 don’t know how to dress. (If you are a well-dressed Gent that I’ve just stabbed, my condolences). I’ll admit that I’m not at the point where I can go up to a stranger and button their jacket or fix their tie – I humbly bow, Tom Ford – but if we make eye contact, believe that they will get a quick pointer…and my business card.
Where do I get the ‘nads to do such things? I think it comes from pure exhaustion with subpar appearances.
I get it…that most guys think that wearing “fitted” suits or shirts that stick to close to your body are only for “fashion” guys (whatever that means)…I get it. But I don’t agree and neither do countless other members of the 18-30 age range.
Wearing clothes that FIT is not a subjection to a passive/”soft” lifestyle. Actually, it is quite the opposite. Wearing clothes that fit actually makes you more confident and definitely makes people pay more attention to you.
It doesn’t have to feel like sudden death to go shopping for clothes…nor is it time consuming to take steps to actually look good before you head out of the door in the morning.
In posts to come, my band of Style Gents and I will show you how to look better and feel confident, simply by wearing clothes that fit and by creating a sense of style that works for you.
So tighten that tie and tuck that shirt in. To Generations Y-Z: you’ve been sloppy for the last time.
